Turning Can'ts into Cans

Today...hell froze over, pigs flew backwards in the rain and we JOGGED our first mile! 😳

For years Lauren and I made excuses about what hurt, we would say "Can't run...we have bad feet" or "My leg goes numb because my circulation is bad." What we are starting to realize very quickly is that a lot of these "I Can't" statements were formed as a coverup for what the real issue was...our unhealthy lifestyle.

Today was really my fault, the fact that Lauren and I ended up jogging outside...I had casually written on Facebook that we wanted to run the Savage Race in November and had been trying to get some people together for it. Well... someone saw my post and when we showed up for training today...we knew something was up because Mark the Trainer put his head phones in...and let me just say..the only time we ever see him put his headphones in is when he's about to go run or workout. We immediately knew that today was not going to be easy and we headed outside.

For one, I don't think either of us ever knew we were supposed to run on our toes or the front parts of our feet. No wonder they hurt!! We started light and did some lunges and backwards hill running in between (hills are no joke). I think the worst part for me was my breathing...trying to get enough air into my lungs, but I think that will get better with practice and time. This is when it's most important to trust the people around you because I just keep thinking "Welp...if I pass out or die I'm pretty sure they both know CPR and at least one of them can run back for help." I also think I might have started singing from Finding Nemo for a moment, "Just keep swimming..." Lauren was a little rougher on herself thinking "Don't quit bitch, he just passed you!" We both have very interesting inner voices that yell, sing, or try to make jokes at any time. Now might be a good time to also mention that I (Nicole) have no filter. Lauren is not much better, but we call her "2 second delay." She's like that TV in the bedroom that is on a 2 second delay. I usually say whatever I'm thinking immediately while she tends to think about it for a couple of seconds, which usually saves us. Me on the other hand, usually gets us in trouble.

We ended our jog exhausted and beet red but I think we can both honestly say that we were shocked we didn't quit, kept going, and didn't throw up😜 We even recorded a video right after for your viewing pleasure to see exactly how wrecked we looked... enjoy...

We also want to say thank you for the awesome response to what we are doing...we just really wanted to share our experiences and let people see that this possible, because up until 3 months ago, we never thought it was. Now that being said...we've already had a lot of comments and questions about what we do, especially about our diets. We get it, that always seems to be the trickiest part. There will be times when we share what we eat or maybe talk about food/products we really like, but everyone is different, and we're not doctors, so before you try changing your diet or new things, make sure you talk with someone who knows what their talking about and knows you and your needs. What works for us, might not for you, so just make sure you're consulting with someone who has the experience and knowledge.

No Rest for the Wicked,
Two Fit Girls

PS: Did we mention we accepted the challenge of having 4 training sessions this week? 💀 Stay tuned...
