OFFICIALLY SUMMER

It's SUMMER YA'LL!! The time of year teachers rejoice and recharge! The time of year when it rains A LOT and it's filled with camp fires, beaches, pools, sunburns, friends, and family! Can you tell we're a little excited? This time of year also affords us the great opportunity to focus more on our workouts...it's hard once you're addicted and have whole days off not to go twice a day! So what we have been doing a lot of days is doing a quick cardio session in the morning and then we'll meet with Mark the Trainer in the afternoon. On days that we don't meet with him, we'll just do a longer cardio session 😁
Lauren enjoying her time in St. Pete

Last week had it's challenges, but we also are ready with the highlights. Lauren and I both ran our fastest mile thus far! Lauren running it in 11:24 and I running it in 11:15! We also experienced the true nature of running outdoors in Florida. Not only is it muggy as hell, but the bugs are so bad! SWARMS of knats...in our hair, in our nose, in our eyes, in our MOUTH! We made it though. After running our fastest mile, we had to go a mile back...walking, jogging, sprinting, then stopping for some kind of torturous exercise (skipping lunges, sit squats ON your partner planking, mountain climbers, and bunny hops). Definitely ranked #1 in the workout book. Lauren also held her longest plank at 1:20!

This week had it's own struggles, proving to be the toughest, physically and mentally. We definitely experienced our top two hardest workouts, but we've realized that we are only going to achieve our goals by pushing ourselves. This week we got to have a lot of "dirty workouts", which typically just means we're outside. These are some of our favorite workouts. Thursday we worked out with a lively bunch of our friends, again running, sprinting, and joggings, with fun little workouts in between. These fun workouts included skipping, running up the hill backwards, and leap frog (which was more of a struggle than expected).  Today we flipped tires filled with water.  Needless to say, by the time we were finished, we were soaked from our legs down and pretty FILTHY, as you can see in the picture above.  You can tell it was a good workout by two things: the level of redness on Nicole's face and if we are silent.  All of these workouts this week caused both!!!

Meet my empty closet... Lauren and I decided to take a big step and get rid of all of the clothes that don't fit anymore...which is almost all of them. After hours of trying things on, seeing if they would look ok with a belt or tied up, this is what was left. About half of these are either school shirts, cardigans (which can be big), or old shirts that I refuse to get rid of (like from high school and college). So when it comes down to it...I think I'm left with about 10 shirts, 3 pants, and a lot of workout clothes. #sorrynotsorry

This is Lauren's closet....as you can see...same problem. A whole lot of school shirts, a few dresses, and a couple of shirts she can still wear. Again #sorrynotsorry

So the great thing is that we have met a lot of incredible people on this journey, and we have realized that a lot of us are struggling with finding clothing that fits. So Lauren and I put all 5 bags into the trunk and got to swapping with other people who needed new clothes.

Lauren's Pants!
Nicole's Pants!
Having these new empty closets, naturally we "stopped by" the local mall just to see how new clothes would fit and get an idea of what sizes we should be looking for. We both know not to buy too many new clothes right not because we are still losing weight, but it's still fun to go window shopping. So the true test in our minds, and the really exciting part was going into stores we have never really been able to shop at and see what we could fit into... The thing is...as the sizes go down, I think we both are in denial about what sizes we actually are, thinking it's just too good to be true. Well people...after going into American Eagle and Victoria Secret...it's real...we wear smaller clothes now, and it's crazy. All of this hard work is paying off to where we can finally see it, and we're still kind of in shock.

Looking forward to the next couple of weeks...there are some exciting things in the works.... Lauren's Dirty Thirty is this upcoming Monday!!! Also, we are both SO close to being under 200 lbs...so we will call this next phase the FINAL COUNTDOWN...and we're still working on our pull-ups, we're getting better though. It's amazing to spiral back through some of the exercises we did months ago, because we are finding them so much easier to do!
