Just Keep Swimming...
Finding Nemo is great and all but this is one thing that we had to keep telling ourselves over and over this week. Just keep swimming...just keep going...don't get discouraged. And then we quite literally ended today with a swimming workout, which was so much fun! I think we both forgot how awesome of a workout swimming can actually be. Since it's so fresh in our minds...lets talk about LOCKER ROOM ETIQUETTE...
Please...ladies...be comfortable with your bodies and all... but for the love of God, use a dressing room or shower when you plan on being naked. If this was an adults only gym...maybe...but there are young children...teenagers...and adults that don't need to see your lady bits. Even the occasional quick change is OK...but we're talking about just born baby...jay-bird...birthday suit naked...walking around...talking to your friends...with your leg propped up like you're at your house...WE.CAN'T.EVEN. And according to our sources... the men's locker room is just as bad if not worse..so for all you gentlemen reading...keep it in your pants...no one needs to see that either. End rant!!!
So if any of you saw our attempt at a live Facebook video, we apologize. If you didn't...you're welcome..and don't worry we're sure we'll have videos at some point. We learned a few things...we're awful singers, we have double chins, and we smack our gum...which drives us both crazy, so we don't know how we managed that! We plan on doing some traveling this summer and we really want to record our adventures. Plus, we realized a while ago that some of the best conversations happen in the car and that we must share! For our benefit and yours, these might need to be edited first. I'll see if I can get something together for this weeks trip to New Orleans, so keep an eye out.
New Orleans... Where do you go? Where do you eat? Are there clean eating options I should know about? I would love to hear your ideas before I leave this week! For the road trip, it will take 11 hours. I always hate the feeling of going on a road trip and feeling like crap at the end because of all the junk you have eaten and the lack of sleep, so I'm considering this a type of experiment to see what happens when you eat clean on a road trip! I'll definitely be packing a cooler, plenty of water, and snacks.
Our food prep has been on point lately and getting better every week. Lauren was awesome and went ahead and cooked the chicken for the entire weeks worth of salads. I think I will also portion out the protein for my shakes in baggies when I go to New Orleans to make it easier. This is kind of what our prep game looks like... Prepping was super important this last week because it was Teacher Appreciation Week without prepping we would have probably eaten bagels, muffins, pasta, doughnuts, subs, candy, and brownies.. We managed to avoid it all! Yay us!
Don't forget to kill it this week,
The Two Fit Girls
PS: The coconut wraps are DELICIOUS! Expensive, so use sparingly...but awesome!

Like most weeks, we had our ups and downs, but as usual we learned a lot from the downs. We'll start off by talking about Lauren. She killed it this week! Earlier in the week she went on a run with Mark the Trainer and ran her first mile... 15 minutes! While 15 minutes may not sound that impressive, part of it was sprinting (like she was running from an f'ing bear), some jogging and some walking, so for doing all of that, it was an amazing 1st time! She also started a new interval, cardio routine that is really difficult and she did awesome! Lauren says "interval training is no joke, it kicked my ass just as much as anything else we have done." She even had to fly solo on Friday and still got her ass there to do it! Proud friend moment. π
We decided to separate this part because although we are very similar and train pretty closely, there are times when we do things differently out of necessity. My(Nicole) knee has been feeling a little tight and so with some advice I took it easy this week. Let's be clear, this was not easy, and to be honest I was quite pissy about it in the beginning, just ask Lauren, she got an earful. I wanted to run. I wanted to do the interval training. To be honest, when someone tells me I can't do something, I usually take it as a challenge and do it anyways. This was a different story though. It wasn't someone telling me I couldn't do it because they didn't think I had the ability, it was someone with experience taking the time to help me lookout for myself. It took me about a day to realize that I needed to take a chill pill and accept what was happening. I did a lot of biking and then swimming today and I feel rested and ready to kick some ass. Through all of this, I have learned that it is important to listen to your body. This new lifestyle change is a process and if we don't take care of ourselves, then we will only make things more difficult for ourselves in the long run.

Thank you all for responding to Nicole's post and helping her create a really awesome new gym playlist. She spent hours listening to songs and perfecting this bad boy. You all know her so well! We have included the final product for your playlist pleasures.
